History of Mass Transit in Northern Kentucky
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, access to jobs, goods, and services for most residents of Northern Kentucky was only possible through mass transit. The Green Line was the primary private transportation service available to Northern Kentucky residents from its inception in 1867 to the creation of today’s Transportation Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) public service in 1972 (Lehmann, 2000).
